If a client you are working with provides regular unpaid support to someone who could not manage without it, the carers assessment will advise whether they are eligible for support from the Council.

For Registered Care Homes and Hospitals Only: Where a Managing Authority (Hospital or Care Home) thinks it already is doing, or needs to deprive someone of their liberty they have to ask for this to be authorised by a supervisory body. They can do this up to 28 days in advance of when they plan to deprive the person of their liberty. Or request an Urgent and Standard Authorisation if the person is already believed to be deprived of their liberty.
